Trip Introduction

Dhampus Trekking with Trishuli River Rafting is one of the best combined trip in Nepal. This best trekking package offers to experience trekking in Nepal with thrilling white water rafting in Trishuli River. This family trekking starts with visiting and exploring around Kathmandu Valley which includes the visit of Syambhunath; The Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath; a temple dedicated to Hindus; Boudhanath, the largest stupa of South Asia and one of popular Buddhist place in Nepal. Our trek continues with experiencing the thrilling white water rafting in Trishuli River. 

Then it heads towards another popular tourist destination of Nepal-Pokhara which is also known as “City of Lake” and eventually to Dhampus; a classic Gurung Village of Nepal where one can get warm local hospitality and magnificent views vistas of Annapurna Range including Mt. Fishtail, 29 peaks and Manaslu. Dhampus is also a popular place to witnessing sunset view.

 

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (1334 meters above sea level): Upon arriving in Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport), a Visit Heaven Trek representative will meet you and help you transfer to your hotel by private bus. Enjoy a free evening to explore Kathmandu and recover from your jet-lag. Meet the Visit Heaven staff during a short pre-tour briefing before welcome dinner with Visit Heaven Trek team. 

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing (1334 meters): A half-day guided tour around Kathmandu city's historical and cultural landmarks. Visit Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, the most important sites of Buddhism and Hinduism in Nepal. Catch the playful antics of the monkeys and beautiful city views at Swayambunath temple. Get lost in Kathmandu's old city bazaars, public squares, and former royal palaces at Durbar Square. 

Day 3: Whitewater Rafting (approx. 3 hours) - Pokhara (approx. 3 hour’s drive):We start our overland journey to Charoudhi (Trishuli River rafting put-in point) in the early morning from Kathmandu. The drive is for 3-4 hours on Prithvi Highway and it is scenic, which includes occasional views of snow-capped mountains, green hills, rivers and river valleys. Delicious breakfast awaits us on the way before we arrive at our destination at approx. 10:30 AM. First, we understand all the commands related to our safety and ultimate excitement, then drill for a while and eventually start rafting. The river is moderate type and has exciting waves as well as rapids enough to experience the thrill that the river has to offer. Once we finish our rafting, we have our lunch and continue our journey to Pokhara.

Day 4: Pokhara - Dhampus (1650m, approx. 3 hour’s trek):After breakfast, we drive for approx. 20 minutes to Phedi and leave our vehicle behind to start our trek to Dhampus. The trail involves stone steps and goes via pine forests.

Upon arrival, we relax in one of the teahouses in Dhampus, which is a village with majority of Gurung ethnicity where we can experience their warm hospitality, and enjoy the magnificent vistas of Annapurna Range including Mt. Fishtail, Lamjung, 29 peaks and Manaslu. Later in the afternoon, we take a leisurely walk through the village and go to the viewpoint for Sunset view.

Day 5: Dhampus – Naudanda (1440m, approx. 3 hour’s trek):Today, we descend from Dhampus first and then ascend to Naudanda village, which is situated along the ridge offering beautiful views of snow-capped mountains and Pokhara city including Phewa Lake that looks like metallic luster on its calm surface. Later in the afternoon, we take a stroll and know about the village more.

Day 6: Naudanda – Pokhara via Sarangkot (820m, approx. 4 hour’s trek):Early in the morning after breakfast, we trek to Sarangkot via flattish dusty track, go past villages, few ponds and schools and eventually descend to lakeside in Pokhara where we have plenty of free time to relax or go for excursion in Pokhara city. 

Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1334 meters/6 hrs car ride or 45 minute air flight): Travel back to Kathmandu overland to the see the green and fertile landscape of Gorkha and Dhading districts or enjoy spectacular mountain views by plane. In evening you will joining the group dinner and drinks to celebrate your trekking success with Visit Heaven Trek.

Day 8: Fly Back Home: A Visit Heaven Trek representative will accompany you to the airport to catch your returning flight. We hope to see you again soon!  Namaste!!
