In Sikles Tara Hill Top trekking, the ridge above the village of Sikles commands incredible views above the Eastern Annapurnas, including Annapurna IV (7,525 meters) Annapurna II (7,939 meters) and the hulk of Lamjung Himal (6,932 meters), and another dozen or more summits. All are impressively above 6,500 meters while sliding down from the heights of Annapurna II, is the huge icefall and glacier that feed into the Mardi Khola. The large village of Sikles is dominated by Gurungs, one the ethnic groups found only in Nepal. Many Gurungs have served in the British Army as Gurkhas.
As Trekking in Nepal is a seasonal adventure tour and trek activities, we’ve two best seasons for this Annapurna Trek and they are as follows:
Spring(March, April, May): The season in which rhododendron sweeps the ascending altitudes with its magnanimous color and beauty and due to which colorful hills are spotted throughout the journey wherever possible. One also gets the chance to collect the panoramic view of the Annapurna Himalayas.
Autumn(September, October, November): The perfect season to trek in which the dry air sweeps the nation and due to which the sky seems to be crystal clear. The trekking trails are also neither too wet nor too slippery. One can enjoy the panoramic views of the snowcapped Himalayas of the Annapurna.
As it is one of the easy treks with a short duration as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek or the Everest Sunrise Trek, one can also enjoy the trek during the winter season as well. Ample winter clothes are recommended for this season.
Visit Heaven Treks will be more than happy to organise Sikles Tara Hill Top trekking and undoubtedly trekking in Nepal with us will be a lifetime experience.

Get the last essentials needed for your trip and take in the atmosphere of Lakeside Pokhara in the evening.
An hour’s drive from Pokhara takes us to Bhurjung Khola, from where we start our trek to Ghalegoan. Along the route, we will see the place where the local village men go hunting for honey. The area is also culturally rich and displays a diverse variety of ethnic traditions. The housing and farming styles give you in-depth insight into life in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal.
Today’s trek is mostly uphill. Leaving behind the well-established tourism village of Ghalegoan, we trek upwards along the upper reaches of the Seti River towards Tara Tops. On route, we will stop at a view point from where we get panoramic views of the Himalaya including Lamung Himal, Annapurna South, Fish Tail, and Annapurna III and IV. The views of the Himalaya are truly amazing and a highlight of the journey. Once returning down, you can also get dramatic views of the Pokhara Valley. Continue trekking onwards to our overnight stop at Tara Tops. Tara Tops is a unique and beautiful campsite.
Leaving behind the campsite at Tara Tops we bid farewell to the breathtaking views and trek mostly downhill through magnolia and rhododendron forests towards Parche in the lower foothills.
Today is for exploring the area around Sikles, which is a Gurung-dominated region. The Gurkha soldier, usually recruited from this area, is renowned for his hardiness and skill in battle. We explore the area and trek to another view point where we can again get a stunning view of the mountains and glacier which roll down from Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Lumjung Himal. We return to Parche for the night for evening entertainment by the local community.
Trekking from Parche, we head towards Lamakhet and the main road. The trek is mostly downhill through rural farming lands and at times passes alongside the Mardi Khola River. From Lamakhet, it’s about an hour and a half drive back to Pokhara along some rough and ready roads.
We take a day of sightseeing around the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara. Paddle across the lake in a row boat and make the 40 min trek through the jungle to the World Peace Pagoda. From this hilltop location, you can get amazing views of the Himalaya and the lake below you. From the Pagoda, trek down the other side and visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp and Davis Falls before returning back to Pokhara for a free afternoon and evening.
